Wissenschaftsladen Bonn e. V. (WILA Bonn) from Germany as coordinator and ANS Education and Consultancy as official partner, the 2nd consortium meeting of LOESS, a Horizon Europe project, was held online on November 7-8, 2023. The LOESS project, which addresses multiple target groups closely related to soil education (primary-secondary-high school students, vocational high school students, university students and anyone interested in soil), aims to increase soil literacy through the development of educational resources and continuing education practices, as well as skills acquisition activities. Topics on the agenda of the 1st day of the meeting: Reporting presentations of the work packages, information sharing on the LOESS Communities of Practice established in 15 countries, and comments and contributions of the members of the Advisory Evaluation Board on the work packages. On the 2nd day, 20 partner organizations involved in the LOESS project exchanged ideas on the Education Innovation Groups (EIGs) they are about to establish in their countries. The content and design of the upcoming Newsletter was discussed and the details of the 3rd consortium meeting in March were clarified. Brainstorming about the contribution of the project partners to the European Soil Week in Spain on November 21-23 and finally, a reminder of the Soil Day on December 5 was made and the international seminars and workshops on soil themes to be held in the coming months were explored.
