From Gaziosmanpaşa Vocational Technical Anatolian High School in Tokat, 11th and 12th-grade students are carrying out some co-creation sessions to develop a virtual and augmented reality application (+AR APP) focusing on soil health. This initiative is part of the (LOESS) project, which aims to increase soil literacy and is supported by the Horizon Europe program under the ‘A Soil Charter Mission for Europe’. On 27 September, at the initiative of Justinmind, the project partner leading this task, an introductory session was organized for the LOESS project Community of Practice (CoP) leaders and educators.

ANS Training and Consultancy, the Turkish partner of the LOESS project, planned four co-creation sessions between October and November for 11th and 12th-grade students of Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa Vocational Technical Anatolian High School, one of the members of the Community of Practice, under the guidance of their agriculture teacher, Elif Yelli. In the first session, the students, who had received prior training in basic soil knowledge, reflected on the key messages on soil health that need to be communicated to the community. They also brainstormed potential actions the App could undertake to promote soil awareness and user engagement. In the second and third sessions, students learned to use the design and prototyping tool Justinmind. In the fourth session, students were divided into small groups to design App prototypes and present them to the class collaboratively.
