The LOESS High-Level Symposium brought together researchers, educators, policymakers, students, and EU Mission Soil project representatives to discuss the future of soil education and capacity building across Europe. The event featured panel discussions on soil health education, university and school-level engagement, policy perspectives, and citizen participation.
During the symposium, LOESS partners and sister projects presented key educational resources, digital tools, and policy-oriented outputs through lightning talks and an interactive marketplace. Participants also explored innovative approaches to soil literacy through breakout sessions focusing on policy impact, university and VET pathways, and primary and secondary education.
The programme further highlighted the cultural dimension of soil through artistic exhibitions and performances inspired by the relationship between people and the land beneath our feet.
The event concluded with a high-level round table on the future of the EU Soil Mission towards 2030, bringing together representatives from several European soil-related projects and organizations.
ANS Education and Consultancy participated in the symposium as the Turkish representative of the LOESS project, contributing to discussions on soil literacy, STEM education, teacher training, and community engagement.
