Green Paths for Green Careers (GRENCA) was an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange designed to help young people better understand the connection between climate change, the changing world of work and emerging green career opportunities. Bringing together young people from Poland, Romania, Ireland, Italy and Türkiye, the project aimed to raise awareness of green jobs and encourage participants to consider how their future education and career choices can contribute to a more sustainable economy.

Throughout the project, participants explored what green jobs and green skills mean, discussed how climate change is influencing employment trends, and discovered opportunities and challenges related to careers in sustainability. Through non-formal learning methods, interactive workshops, teamwork and practical activities, they also strengthened skills such as communication, creativity, cooperation, problem-solving and active citizenship. Particular attention was given to the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities and to creating an international learning environment where participants could exchange experiences and learn from one another.

As part of the project, young people worked together to develop practical dissemination materials, including a Green Career Guide and short digital content promoting careers in sustainability and green jobs. Beyond increasing knowledge about green career pathways, GRENCA aimed to encourage young people to see themselves as active contributors to the green transition and to inspire further local activities, international cooperation and future Erasmus+ initiatives.
