The LOESS project and its activities in Türkiye were featured in a four-page interview published in the March–April 2026 issue of Tarım Gündem Magazine, a publication focusing on agriculture and related developments.
Under the title “Soil Literacy Shapes the Future of Agriculture,” the interview highlighted the importance of soil literacy and explored the vital role of healthy soils in food security, the water cycle, biodiversity and climate resilience.
The interview also introduced the activities carried out in Türkiye within the LOESS project, which brings together schools, universities, young people, teachers and local communities to promote soil education through experiential and participatory learning.
From outdoor learning activities and student engagement to teacher training, digital educational tools and community-based initiatives, LOESS aims to make soil knowledge more accessible, engaging and relevant to everyday life.
The four-page feature provided a valuable opportunity to raise awareness of soil literacy and share the project’s objectives and activities with a wider audience, particularly within Türkiye’s agricultural community.
We sincerely thank Tarım Gündem Magazine for featuring the LOESS project, Fatma Uzuncular for providing this opportunity, and Furkan Çoban for facilitating this valuable collaboration.
Because generations that understand soil are the foundation of a future that protects it.
