For the LOESS project, our first interviewee: Mrs. Zeliha Güneş Demir, Ecological Literacy Trainer Trainer- 31st January 2024

We walk on soil, but we often don’t give much thought to what lies beneath our feet. Soil

We walk on soil, but we often don’t give much thought to what lies beneath our feet. Soil is vital for both people and the planet. It is an important source of food and medicine, it filters and purifies our water, reduces flooding, and plays a crucial role in combating climate change. In fact, without soil, there is no life.
As part of LOESS, a Horizon Europe project, we are investigating the current state of soil health education in 15 European countries, including Türkiye, and what approaches can be used to improve it. To get an idea about the situation and practices in Türkiye, we conducted online/face-to-face interviews with 10-12 experts in their fields. We want to thank her for joining the LOESS Türkiye Community of Practice, participating in this interview, and sharing her valuable knowledge with us.
