Soil Mission Week successfully brought together the entire EU Soil community in Madrid:

Researchers, policymakers, farmers, foresters, land managers, etc.

Soil Mission Europe aims to promote “A Soil Deal for Europe”.

-3 intense days of collaboration.

-300 on-site and 600 online participants.

-84 speakers.

 -20 EU institutions and their enthusiastic staff.

 The first Soil Mission competition.

 Launch of the International Soil Carbon Research Consortium.

 Organized by the European Commission DG AGRI and the PREPSOIL project

 Host CSIC and EU2023ES 

 SoilMission’s overall goal: By 2030, create a network of 100 living labs and lighthouses to lead the transition to HealthySoils.

-11 projects, 191 beneficiaries.

-123 proposals submitted.

-126 Million Euro total budget.

-16 proposals are expected to be funded.

 The evaluations are underway and the results are expected to be announced by mid-December.

 The ancestor of Soil projects, EJP SOIL, coordinated by experienced INRAE staff, was present in Madrid to create synergies between all projects.
