As part of the LOESS Project, we visited Antalya Community College and had the opportunity to meet with students in grades 5, 6, and 7. Together with my colleague Sinem Dağtekin, we delivered an interactive English lesson on the topic of ‘Healthy Soils, Healthy Cities,’ combining tests, discussions, and visual storytelling. The students’ curiosity, participation, and thoughtful questions made the lesson truly inspiring. Antalya Community College is a bilingual international school at the K-12 level that integrates sustainability, environmental awareness, and global citizenship into daily learning. Through interdisciplinary and inquiry-based education, students actively engage with real-world challenges such as soil health, climate resilience, and sustainable cities. We extend our special thanks to science teacher Feriha Özmen and school principal Nilda Çorapçı for their kind support and hospitality.
